It came a day earlier than it was supposed to, and I decided to put it to the test a few times before reviewing it. Efficient, easy to clean, with plenty of adjustable settings to try and two very powerful motors. It definitely gets the job done better than pretty much any other thing I’ve tried.

A concern I had before ordering was that it would be heavy, or too large and unwieldy to use easily. It took me a minute to figure out the best way to hold it, but I am admittedly not the brightest sometimes so I think the average person wouldn’t have any problems figuring it out.

I recommend laying down a towel, because I made a dang mess. If I could give it 12 stars out of 5, I would.

I’m always on the lookout for interesting toys to spice things up with, and when I came across what looked like a treble clef drawn from memory (more like tremble clef), I was interested right away!

When it actually arrived, I was confused as to how itupposed to function, until I actually pulled it out to clean and test the first time, when it became immediately apparent that the stubby end actually extends and “rolls” open to increase the length. This is more comfortable in use than it appears, though it does need holding in as the ball does want to roll itself back up, and your limited to a few positions to keep a grip on the end and use the controls. The included case is a nice touch, and adds a premium touch that you might expect.given the price. The silicone coating itself is soft and smooth with little grip (a water based lube might be helpful for some).

The motors are probably the best I’ve come across, and where this snail really shines; with plenty of strength at full power, yet quieter than most at the same time. You can operate both and change the strength and patterns independently to customize to your liking, and the battery is quick to charge and lasts multiple uses. I do appreciate the non-magnetic charging, which many toys seem to be switching to and that fall off if you’re not careful – though I do wish there was a more obvious port as it can be hard to find (especially with little to no light).

Cleaning is probably the only real downside I can find, due to the crevices in the multiple bends… You may need to use a washcloth or soft brush to actually get these areas clean. Another possible issue is your kid stumbling across this and assuming it’s some kind of adult Otomatone and bringing it out to play in front of company; in any case, this is a strong and pleasurable experience, and definitely does the job despite the strange shape. Worth the price tag for any collector looking for a novel and strong new toy to surprise themselves or their partner!
